About Praia da Morena

Surf Conditions
Morena catches west to northwest swells and produces soft, rolling waves over the sandy bottom. Knee to chest-high conditions are ideal for the mellow wave type. East to northeast offshore winds keep things clean and surfable.
Summer and autumn are the best seasons, offering warm conditions and consistent small swells. The gentle waves persist even when neighbouring spots are flat, making it a reliable option for a fun session. Winter swells can overpower the spot, though it can still produce rideable waves on smaller days.
Getting There & Facilities
Accessible by car or bike along the coastal path. The Transpraia beach train (currently closed since 2019) may reopen in future (June-September) or by car along the coastal road. Parking at the beach access points.
The beach bar scene is a highlight, with food, cocktails, and music during summer months. Lifeguards patrol from June to September. Some accommodation options are within walking distance. Off-season, facilities are limited, but the beach remains accessible.
