ATM Surfboards is the work of master shaper Carlos Martins, who has been handcrafting surfboards in Costa da Caparica since 1998. His philosophy is simple: 99%% handshaped — against the mass, make your choice.
Every ATM board is shaped with precision and deep knowledge of local wave conditions. Carlos works closely with each customer to design boards that match their surfing style, body type, and the waves they ride most. From high-performance shortboards to smooth-riding mid-lengths, each board is a unique piece of functional art.
The shaping bay is open for visits — watching Carlos work is an education in itself. He also offers ding repairs and restoration of vintage boards, bringing old favourites back to life with the same craftsmanship that goes into his new shapes.
