Cabana do Pescador catches west to northwest swells and transforms them into gentle, crumbly waves on the sandy bottom. Knee to chest-high conditions are ideal. East to northeast winds provide offshore conditions for cleaner wave faces.
Spring and summer are the best seasons for this beginner-friendly spot, with smaller swells, warm weather, and lifeguard cover. The mellow conditions make it perfect for learning. In winter, bigger swells can overpower the spot, though it can still offer fun waves on smaller days.
Getting There & Facilities
Accessible by car or bike along the coastal path. The Transpraia beach train (currently closed since 2019) may reopen in future (June-September) or by car along the coastal road. Parking at the beach access points.
A seasonal beach bar operates during summer near the fishing huts. Facilities are basic outside of summer. Lifeguards patrol from June to September. The fishing hut area adds a picturesque element that makes this beach stand out from the others.
